DFA Brasil opens innovative concept store at Salvador International Airport

New Duty Paid DFA SHOP, with an area of 845sqm, introduces a new local Bahian sense of place into travel retail shopping.


Duty Free Americas (DFA) officially inaugurates the DFA Shop Salvador, continuing its commitment to innovate and provide a sense of place in the travel retail experience. The new DFA Shop in Salvador Bahia Airport (Vinci Airports) represents an important step in the company's development of Brazil’s market. The new store located in the domestic departures area, is a new concept with details in local materials and open architecture, bringing the local atmosphere and experience of Bahia into the store. In its partnership with Vinci Airports in Salvador, DFA also operates two stores in the Duty Free international area and will soon open 7 new restaurants through their joint venture in DFA SSP Restaurantes Brasil.


With 845sqm of space divided into 2 floors, the DFA Shop at Salvador Airport sets a new standard for customer’s comfort and product interactions that will raise passenger’s expectations in the Brazil Northeast region. The store will attend to passengers of all departures and connection flights and reflects the new commercial concept of the Airport, providing passengers with the best travel experience through local ambiance.

Passengers will find in the DFA Shop Salvador an assortment of national and international brands of fragrances, cosmetics, liquor, electronics, fashion, confectionery and toys. The store will also have an area imitating a Bahia Street Market, taking the passenger directly to the popular streets of the region.


DFA Brazil opened operations 4 years ago and currently operates 15 stores in 7 airports. DFA Brazil also has two Joint Venture formats developing other travel retail businesses in Brazil. WHSmith, one of the largest convenience travel retailers, operating 11 stores in the country. With SSP, one of the world's largest F&B travel retail operators, there are 19 restaurants under development. With these three travel retail formats, DFA Brazil foresees a great expansion in the country in the upcoming years.
