High season route boosts tourism

Salvador Bahia Airport will have a new international destination option this Summer, with direct flights between the capital of Bahia and Santiago, Chile, operated by GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes.

The first flight between Salvador and Santiago will depart today, at 10 pm, in a Boeing 737-800. To celebrate the inauguration, the passengers will receive a special gift from the new airport concessionaire, part of VINCI Airports, which took over the operation of Salvador Bahia Airport on January 2, 2018.

The new route is also very much welcomed at destination at Santiago International Airport, in which VINCI Airports also has a management role.

On the first return flight, between Santiago and Salvador, scheduled for the evening of January 6, the concessionaire will perform a traditional "baptism" of the aircraft, forming a bow with water jets from fire trucks.

The new flight between Salvador and Santiago will meet demand of the high Summer season and will operate between January and February. Tickets are available for sale on the GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes website and at the sale counters of the Salvador International Airport.

The inauguration of the new route reinforces the objective of VINCI Airports to expand the development of air traffic of the Bahian capital. "Salvador has a lot of tourism potential. As well as being one of the most sought after destinations for Brazilian and international tourists, the demand of Bahians for international flights has also grown and needs to be met, "said Julio Ribas, CEO of the concessionaire.
