Salvador Airport awards certificate attesting the safety of its operations

Salvador Airport’s Concessionaire, a member of VINCI Airports’ network, has been awarded with the permanent Airport Operational Certificate. The document, granted by National Civilian Aviation Agency (ANAC), attests that operations happen in accordance with the institution regulation, especially the ones related to operational safety, maintenance and response to airport emergency.

The certification has been awarded, among other requirements, after the definition of which types of air operations the facility is authorized to receive – assuring the airport will remain receiving international flights and large aircrafts. Moreover, the document attests its capacity to comply with ANAC technical regulations related to safety and emergencies – rules that are aligned with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.

The renovation works in progress at Salvador Airport are some measures taken to obtain the Certificate, such as the improvements on the main and auxiliary runaways. Investments on the Fire Prevention, Rescue and Fire Service had also been made by the Concessionaire and contributed to this accomplishment.

All the facility operational specifications are registered on the Manual of Airport Operations, document required by ANAC to grant the certification. The Manual includes conditions, patterns and description of procedures that the Concessionaire must follow to ensure the safety of operations, as well as other initiatives.
