VINCI Airports signs contract with construction companies for the first phase of expansion and modernization works at Salvador Bahia Airport

The Concessionaire of Salvador S.A. airport, which is a subsidiary of VINCI Airports, signed today an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) contract with a consortium formed by Teixeira Duarte Engenharia e Construções S.A, Alves Ribeiro S.A do Brasil and OEngenharia LTDA. for the execution of the first phase of the expansion and modernization works at Salvador Bahia Airport. The chosen construction companies will leverage their extensive experience in infrastructure projects, including at Lisbon airport which is also managed by VINCI Airports, to implement the new concessionaire’s plan for an improved and refurbished Salvador Bahia Airport. 

As determined in the Concession Contract, the airport improvement and expansion works will be divided in two phases (1B and 1C), which will be conducted over the next four years. The contract that was signed today refers to the works of the first phase (1B), scheduled to begin in April 2018 and to be completed by October 2019. The next phase (1C) is scheduled for completion by October 2021. The Concessionaire took over the airport operations on January 2nd, 2018.
